The guide rail sits firmly on the machine and helps you cut thin sheets with both hands without worrying about the rail shifting from its place. You can cut thinner slices as high as the machine will allow. You can cut sheets up to 1 mm thick.
Use the vertical side of the guide rail to guide the material and make the cut even without the material on the surface of the cutting table.
